Fiat cars have an average reliability rating of 3.5/5 according to RepairPal. Fiat 500 cars fall into the same rating. They are easy enough city cars or quick trips, though they are not the greatest for long distance traveling, or anything off road. For the little compact vehicle that it is, the reliability is really subpar and you will find Fiat withdrew their replacement offer so I bought a Fiesta ST. I kinda missed the Fiat and regret not being able to replace my Sport with a Abarth but I'm REALLY happy with the Ford. The Fiat is fun but I wouldn't consider one if there wasn't a good warranty or if it was my only transportation. The reliability was painful at times.

It’s almost more economical to look into buying a new (used) Abarth. This however is also a tricky situation as selling a car with a broken roof that costs $4,000-$6,000 to repair (let alone finding someone to take the repair on) is equally problematic. But it’s such a fun car to blast around in.. BIindsight.
Fiat 500 Abarth: 160 hp: 1.4L Turbo Inline-4 Gas: $20,745: Fiat 500c: 135 hp: 1.4L Turbo Inline-4 Gas: $17,990: Are Fiat cars reliable? In the past, the answer would have been a definitive no
Consumer Reports rates them with awful reliability yet I have not had a single issue. I test drove the VW GTI, and that is a great car, but a whole different animal. The fuel consumption is okay because the car is so light and has a small engine, but it is nothing close to what the manufacturer claims and a regular Fiat 500 will be shades better than the Abarth. Reliability isn't terrible and Fiat have come a long way over the past decade or so with regard to that. 260 no way, maybe on a euro abarth with the tjet motor, but the multiair you will be lucky to hit 200whp even with tune etc. Beyond that point you're likely going to destroy something internal.
