Up first is Ford’s 1.5-liter EcoBoost inline three-cylinder engine. While it only has three cylinders, it packs quite a punch. This all-aluminum brute features a blend of direct-injection and port-injection to perfectly optimize fuel usage and power output. It has a compression ratio of 11 to 1. Ford don't help much - looking back through old price lists they quote the same power, torque and performance figures for both 125 variants though the MHEV has very slightly lower mpg and CO2 figures. I see the 155 also has better mpg and lower CO2 than the current 125. They seem to be a very nice place to be. I test drove a 2012 1.6 ecoboost (150) and really liked it. It felt smooth and the power was a very nice upgrade from my lethargic 56 plate 1.2 clio. The stated MPG figures for the 1.6 are ok in my books, I can live with slightly less. The 1l ecoboost figures however seem very high! You are indeed correct, the 1.6 Ti-VCT 125PS engine is now only available with the Powershift gearbox. However before the introduction of the 1.0 Ecoboost engine the 1.6 petrol was available in either 105PS or 125PS format. My car was registered in September 2011 and is a 1.6 125PS Ti-VCT engine with a 5 speed manual gearbox. The Focus 1.0 Ecoboost sports the same sharp distinctive styling as the rest of the range. The design is a little busy in places — the highly sculpted rear lights are a real departure from the slim, simple light clusters on the previous generation Focus — and some elements are arguably overstyled. The base model will attract little For the most part, that means you get a choice of small petrol engines with a selection of power outputs on offer. The entry-level choice is the 1.1-litre, 75hp option that's available solely in conjunction with the basic Trend trim level, but we'd skip that and head straight for one of the 1.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost engines. Ford Model: Focus Zetec 1.0 (125) Ecoboost. Ford Year: 2013. UK/Ireland Location: Kent. Posted November 11, 2013. To be honest I was delighted by its long distance economy and never expected to reach the official figures. My Golf never did either (but the Focus is far better to drive) Quote.

Chevrolet's arch rival Ford, with its 1.0-liter EcoBoost, is the most recent American manufacturer to offer a three-cylinder engine in the U.S. Ford dropped that engine from the now-extinct Fiesta
Power comes from a 1.0 EcoBoost three-cylinder turbo petrol in 125PS or 140PS guises, with 123 or 138bhp respectively. but is it enough to take on the best in class? New Ford EcoSport 2018 TonSxVg.
