The ecu light and power loss can be a multitude of things. The 2.2 is less susceptible to the injector faults that the 2.0 commonly suffers and the usual suspect of this behaviour is the EGR valve which once blocked gets stuckand either can't open or close fully which sticks the warning light on and drops the power to prevent engine damage.

Firstly, undo the hazard switch connectors (and heated seats if you have those too) Secondly remove the heater unit connectors by pressing in the tab and sliding the locking arm open. Thirdly remove the radio plug, the fibre optic lead and the aerial wire. Now you can pull the whole unit out on the frame.
Having read quite a bit of online advice I have had a go at replacing the washer pump on my 2005 S type 2.7 D. The tray under the radiator is off despite every screw being rusted solid ( another story). I can just see the pump wiring connector from below but it seems everything has to be done by "feel".This is the type which is inserted from above.
